Yolk-Yellow Bifrenaria
Care
Lighting
Bifrenaria aureofulva is suitable for part shaded or bright to part sunny places with morning, evening and winter sun. From hot summer sun it should be protected. During hot summer weeks it can be placed light shaded in the garden or on the balcony.
Soil
Fine orchid bark (seedling grade), orchid moss.
Watering
Let the soil moderately dry between the waterings to about 70 % of the pots height. Reduce watering if placed temperate during winter. Avoid overwatering such as underwatering.
Feeding
When the plant is actively growing (from spring to fall) feed monthly with liqiud orchid fertilizer or liquid organic vegetable fertilizer. If Bifrenaria aureofulva does not want to flower a temperate winter rest period with reduced watering can be helpful.
Temperature
Warm during summer. Needs a temperate winter rest period at 15 to 20 °C (59 to 68 °F) to get into bloom.
Propagation
By division is possible.
